So, I'm a total idiot and I was supposed to start the Pill this Sunday (I had my period last week) and of course I forgot to pick them up from the pharmacy until yesterday. Is it true that you can just choose any day of the week AFTER your period to start the pill and you're immediately protected???? If I start the pack tonight, am I good???
Its Wednesday...but now you have to pretend like its sunday forever. Not sure how that would work, but I do know that your not 100% safe because of the time lapse. Protect! It takes the absence of 2 pills to screw up the whole cycle.
yea ur cycle gets screwed up!! sometimes the doctors tell you to take 2 pills to make it up [ depeding on what pill/ doctor u have], i dont know all i know is your definately not 100% protected!!
I think that you are now supposd to wait a cycle until you can start. Or just can start this sunday, but know that you'll be totally screwed up. You could have missed sunday and monday and taken two pills yesterday and today, but now you have missed too many days.
The very first pill of the pack is the most important pill. You've already missed it, plus 3 more? You're not going to be protected against pregnancy. You COULD start taking the pack now to control when you get your period, but it's kind of a waste if your cycle is regular because you'd have to use a backup method every time you have sex from now until your next period / new pack anyway. Call your doctor to make sure, but I think you're gonna have to forget about the Pill for this month.

i just read the instruction booklet that comes with the pill and i was shocked to learn that if you're a Sunday starter, you're supposed to use back-up for the first 7 days that you take the pill UNLESS Sunday happens to be the first day of your period. If you want until the Sunday AFTER your period, you're supposed to use backup for 7 days. SH*T!!!! I've been playing with fire all these years! WHO KNEW???!!!!! As for this month, I'm totally messed up.
My period ended on Thursday, I think. But even if it's not your first time using the Pill, the instructions said to use backup if you're a Sunday starter and your period does not actually START on the Sunday that you begin taking the pack. I've been on the Pill for seven years and I never knew that!!!!
You only need a back up method if you're starting the pill for the first time on sunday. If it's you've been on the pill, then you don't need a back up method as long as you start the pack again after your week break.
