GTL is set to give way to HPM -- hockey, poutine and maple syrup.
While MTV's 'Jersey Shore' has already gone into hibernation -- it returns for a third season in January -- a Canadian offshoot called 'Lake Shore' is gathering steam after holding auditions this summer.
Though the nicknames are different -- The Situation, Snooki and Sammi Sweetheart have becnome The Italian, The Jew and Annie Mae (as in 'anime,' she's Vietnamese) -- the multi-ethnic cast's antics cut an even wider swath.
In one scene from the show's recently released 'sizzle reel,' a cast member named 'The Turk' (the Sammi to another star's JWOWW?) quips to the camera, 'I'm not a racist, because you know what? I hate everybody equally. Especially Jewish people.'
Though the series does not yet have a network, it's already causing a stir via the various sneek peeks that can be found on the show's official website, www.lake-shore.ca and YouTube.
On Wednesday morning the site appeared to have crashed due to the volume of visitors.
Much like 'Jersey Shore,' which features a crew of twentysomethings (and one or two 30-year-olds) partying their way through Seaside Heights, NJ, and Miami, FL, 'Lake Shore' highlights its multi-ethnic casts exploits in the eastern part of Great White North (Toronto, Ontario, specifically).
And while there's nary a mention of Gym, Tan, Laundry, this crew has a lot more cause to get frisky in the hot tub considering their chilly surroundings.
Now that's a situation, eh?
