I am having movers come to me this week. The lady I spoke with at the company said to tip around $6-$8 a person per hour. HTH

I had 3 movers move by house so fast that i gave them an extra hour as a tip- they really appreciated it and totally deserved it- And we had budgeted for that extra hour anyway.

Re: NWR: tipping movers?

I just used movers and in the contract, they actually had a note suggesting that the tip be 15-20% of the total fee which is what I was going to do anyway. For us, we had them pack our stuff so there was a lot of work and I was ok with the 15-20% tip.

Tipping Guidelines For Movers

Assuming the movers have done a good job, 10 to 15 percent of the total fee, split among the movers and given to the foreman, is a nice tip. For a difficult move, you might think about tipping each mover up to $100. Feel free to ask what is customary when you get your estimates. Refreshments (especially plenty of water) are always appreciated.
