NWR- Towing company must have needed $$$$

So after a long hard day on my surgery rotation (I am a PA student) I come out to the block on which I left me car only to find... NOTHING! Today while I was in the hospital they decided to work on the side walk crack adjacent to where I had parked my car. So I guess they wanted my car out of the way so they towed and impounded it! After standing outside in Forest Hills on my cell phone trying to find out if my car was stolen or towed... the precinct was not that helpful! I was told that if they wish to perform construction at any point in time they can 'relocate' your car to any available spot in the 5 block radius! Well after walking the streets and finding no car, getting no where with the police , and calling every available impound number (they close at 7pm, it was 8pm!) I was left with nothing and FH drove there to pick me up (40 miles). Fortunatly his mother had better luck and kept trying the local precinct and finally was given an 'emergency' exention... IT TURNS OUT THAT IF THEY DECIDE TO WORK ON THE SIDE WALK (EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY AND YOU ARE ALREADY PARKED THERE) THE STREET THEN BECOMES A NO STANDING ZONE!!! So tomorrow I have to try to get the car back.

OMG! That's horrible! How strange. Sorry you had to deal with that.
