NWR- Tracking Sex Offenders

This is just as an FYI that was forwarded to me by a friend of mine. I have worked with many sexual offenders in the mental health field and of course, have been very concerned about the number of offenders there are around us. I wanted to post a website that allows you to put in your address to find out whether or not there are registered sex offenders living in your area. I thought this would be helpful for people who are moving to a particular area, that they could do some research. I think the only way we can personally battle this growing epidemic is to just be aware of our neighbors.

Me and my fiance were talking about that the other day. We saw a report on sex offenders and I was wondering how many lived in our neighborhood. I have three in the area, not bad compared to where my family lives in brooklyn. About one on every block . I work in a school and there were a ton of them in the neighborhood as well. Very scary! What's sad is that they only spend a short amount of time in jail for affecting someone's life forever.

When FH and I were deciding if we were goign to bid on the house we just closed on, that was one of the first things I did b/c we intend to raise our family in this house. At first he thought I was nuts (because all this weddign planning and moving has really made me nuts! ), but then realized it was a smart thing to do.

Luckily there are none where we live.

Thanks for posting that! I have seen in before....very sore spot with me, a guy a dated when I lived in NY turned out to be a sex offender...found out when my grandmother saw him on the news....I was SICK for days.
