NWR - Traffic Violations Court in Hauppauge

Okay so I posted a while ago that I have to go to court because I pleaded not guilty on a 30+ mph speeding ticket (that i didnt even deserve)

I have a clean record, no points, and no other tickets...

my boyfriends mothers boyfriend said that I could lose my license because of this.

is there anyone that has gone through this at all? everyone else I talk to says i wont lose my license because its my first offense, and i have a clean record...

i'm getting very nervous now.

u shouldn't loose ur liscense b/c of it , as long and you show up to the court on time, u should be okay considering its ur first offense, most of the time the other cop doesn't even show up and u go home...basically free

How can you prove that you didnt deserve the ticket? Or what is your defense? One time a friend of mine got a ticket and was clocked in while going down a hill.... messed up right? That night I think they were just looking to pin someone

well the only proof would be if the initial cop shows up, then pretty much u cant get outta the ticket, must most cases 9 out of 10, it will be dismissed b/c the cop doesn't want to show up..so just pray u have a lazy cop haahah

I had a similar situation when I first started driving and lost my license for 30 days, but ONLY because if you receive ANY moving violations within the first 6 months of getting your license you will have it suspended. I wouldn't worry. You won't lose your license. If found guilty you will receive a fine and points. Then go and take defensive driving and get some of the points removed.

Yup fight it. Sometimes they knock it down...but I have found that happens more in Nassau than Suffolk...

When I fought mine in Suffolk, I went 3 times and on the third time the cop finally showed. He mis testified, like said I was driving a different car (he pulled the wrong summons #) and I got out with NO FINE NO POINTS! Woohoo!

I don't think you'll lose your license from a first ticket, but your insurance will go up and the higher over the limit you are, the more points.

The same thing happened to me but I have to go to the BRONX courthouse!!! I have a March court date.
They cant take your license away. I am hoping that they knock points off and reduce the ticket but I am nervous as well!!!

as long as you show up it will get knocked down to a lower offense. You will prob still have to pay but i doubt you'll loose your license especially being a first offense.
