just curious, do you write TY notes for all of your holiday gifts? when i was growing up my mom always had me write them after the holidays, and for the most part I still do. do you think its necessary?

Re: NWR: TY notes
i don't write thank yous for holiday gifts...I might think to if it is a aunt across the country who sent me a gift..but not for the ones that we exchange with my aunts and uncles around here...

I agree... no need to send TY's for everyone. Either you're exchanging gifts or they give it to you in person so you can say it then. I get gifts from my sales guys so I usually pick up the phone and say TY then

I wouldn't say necessary, and most people probably don't, including myself, but what a nice touch!

I only write TY notes for certain people....FHs parents, work people, etc. Not for my immediate family.

No not for holiday gifts. I just thank them in person when they give me the gift. I never received a thank you for a holiday present so I never thought about sending them.

Re: NWR: TY notes
Writing personal notes is proper etiquette that no one does anymore-- it's a lost art -it'sis kinda a thing of the past except maybe for maybe someone you don't see often that sent you one
