Today my FSIL calls me to invite joe and I to her sweet 16 party. Okay. We will be happy to come. But I hear her mom behind her telling her what to say. She tells me that its a very fancy place so my FH will have to cut his hair and beard or the 'place' won't let him in. Now we have no problem with dressing up in a suit and dress. But to tell joe he has to cut his hair and beard! Joe is growing his hair for our wedding. Hes always wanted longer hair and I think that hot! Naturely joe would trim his beard to make it look neat for his sister party BUT to flat out tell us he can't come without short hair just drives me nuts! At our e-party joe went on his own to barbar shop to trim himself professionally. I'm just so PO they would think we would show up like slobs to his sister party and try to order us in how joe can grow his hair! Sorry I just can't deal with people like this. I don't blame his sister. Then she tells me, 'its mothers day!' Thats pretty much when the call ended. We were going to show up and bring a card and some flowers. But I'm so annoyed!!! Am I over reacting???

No you are not over reacting. There are many men who wear their hair long an look wonderful. BRad Pitt had a long hair stage and I am sure they wouldnt kick him out. Antonio Banderas wore his hair long as did Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and many other actors. I may be inclined to have the beard trimmed like you said but long haired men can look great!

Thanks Leslie! I thought I was losing my mind! Joes going to straighten his hair and tie it back. He'll even up his beard but he's not chopping it off. I was just so PO'ed! I mean the audacity! He's a grown man for crying out loud.
