Ok-FH & I desperatly need a vacation this year. I had put it in my mind that with the wedding planning we wouldn't be going away...but i can't make it with out going away!
Anyone have any suggestions on a trip that won't cost more than $500 for the two of us?? i know highly unlikely! We're thinking about going to Vegas-but i really want some beach time and less partying. I've got to see if i can find some place nearby or a quick flight way.

as much as you think Vegas will be a cheap trip (which it can be with the hotel and airfare package they have on expedia) it's the spending money when you get there that's gonna add up. Even if you don't really gamble much it can still costs you a pretty penny.
Maybe you can do a California trip? Or maybe Disney?

that's what i was thinking-the dinners will add up. Trying to think of places on the west coast now. FH has never been out there so maybe i find find a cheap weekend trip. We've done disney & universal twice already. I do have family down there and that's a cheap trip; but i really want to go away away. I'm asking for a lot on a budget! Just like wedding plannig! LOL!

I think $500 for the two of you may be a little difficult. It may be doable but from research I've done flights alone can cost $200-$400+ each depending on where you're going. If you were spending $500 each it would probably be a little easier to take a trip that requires a flight. Maybe try to take a trip that you can drive to such as Boston, Jersey Shore, Virginia Beach.

I think we're going to go out East for the weekend. I e-mailed a bunch of vineyards for info on wine tasting so i think we'll stay at a hotel/b&b; and just visit a bunch of vineyards; eat out maybe hit the outlets on the way back. Just a short getaway! Thanks for your suggestions!!

If you go during the week, some of the hotels in Atlantic City are very affordable, and you can go for 1 nice dinner and eat cheap the rest of the time. FH and I have def done 2 nights in AC for less than $500 or close to it.
You have the beach and boardwalk, IMAX theater in the Trop, comedy shows and none of that is super expensive.
But your Montuak idea sounds super relaxing also.

Do a trip you can drive to and do it during the week. Ocean city is really nice and fun! I love it there! You only want to spend 500 total or just on like the room?

how long are u thinking about going away for? there are soooo many deals out there .. why dont u try to find an all inclusive places.. i just found a deal for feb to go to bahamas for 3 nights for 349 a person.. which is not horrible.. and thats with flight/meals includ

But to answer your question-looking to get away for 2 or 3 nights; we'll probably do the east end next month. But we'd like a summer/fall vacation...
