Re: NWR: Vacuum poll

Thanks ladies...now I am more confused than ever!

I doubt we'll go for the Dyson since the cheapest one is $400 I'm sure it's a lifetime vacuum... but right now we're in an apartment., not a house. So maybe someday

I registered for the Dyson, and I cannot wait to get it. Everyone who owns one raves about it.

OK LADIES.... despite what I said in my previous post, I caved and registered for the Dyson. I went to epinions.com and read all the unbelievable reviews about this vacuum.

Dyson has been available in the UK for years and has been doing very well. Hopefully this one will last more than the 5 years mine is lasting!! My current vacuum (Fantom) s*cks... and not literally!

I got the Dyson Animal for my shower and I LOVE to vaccuum now! It works really well and is kind of quiet as vaccuums go.

I heard it weighs 20 lbs. is it hard to push around?

I have a Kenmore which is just wonderful - it's a canister and it uses bags. I hate the bagless vacuums, I find them very difficult to keep clean.

I just bought one too! I had a shark upright and I hated it! My sister's cleaning lady said the Kenmore is the best value canister around. It has made cleaning so much easier and I love it!

Electrolux!

Although I agree that this is a great vacuum, I bought a SHARK and this thing is amazing. I try to vacuum once a week as I have a cat and I'm amazed at what comes out of this thing after only one week. I've had it for 2 years now and I still call my FH over to see all the dirt it picked up !! We both have never seen anything like it before. They sell them at BB&Beyond or even Target !!!

THE BEST VACUUM EVER!!!!

we have an upright oreck- its awesome we have pets and it picks up the best, and we have a canister electrolux, good but i swear by oreck i have had all others you posted and none worked as well as the oreck. you have to use it to believe it.

I have 5 cats and 2 dogs and one of the cats is super fluffy and with the oreck I have 0 dust and pet hair- I love love it.

I have the electrolux. It is worth the investment. It works great. Very sturdy, which is what I need I am constantly banging it into the walls.

It is kind of heavy but its lighter than my old vaccuum, the Tornado. The Dyson is very easy to push though for some reason.

I have a Fantom now (about 5 yrs old) and it is quite heavy! I would say at least 15-20 lbs. so if the Dyson is around that weight, it should be fine for me.

My Fantom still picks up an awful lot! but it's the hose attachment that has no suction at all. And it's driving me nuts!

The Dyson Animal, especially if you have to deal with pet hair. Kirby is also good but costs like 3x more than the Dyson if you can believe that.

I've got the hoover windtunner bagless self propelled. Do far we really like it. I don't recommend it for going up and down stairs though. It's too heavy, but got vacuuming you don't notice the weight b/c it's self propelled
