i think she should have given you the information - that was messed up and you have a right to be mad
i dont think anyone will think anything if you can't make it - it is pretty far, if it were in NYC then i would tell you to go!
can you get his family's information? Maybe you can send them a nice condolence card and write that you will miss him and he was always a great guy and send it in a few days. I tend to send card more than actually attend wakes for more casual aquaintances - and i think everyone appreciates it
and then when you get a chance just light a candle and say a little prayer for him - he knows that you are thinking about him!

yea like its not the issue of feelin left out, bc i usually do with that staff but if you sent out an email to a bunch of people, just add my name to the list how hard is it.

That is horrible, she has no right to assume anything. Your an employee there and she should have sent you the email regardless. What if you couldn't go but wanted to send flowers or something, you would still need the info.

I'm very sorry to hear that, that was definitely EFFed up of her to just assume not to send you an email because of your classes. You're right, you should have been included on the email and then would have been able to make the decision on your own.
