NWR- vent

I'm not sure if we should be p_ssed or just laugh right now.

So FH has custody of his two children. Their mother is in the picture, but for 4 years contributed zero towards them and does very little in the way of participating in their lives. In the Fall, FH took her to court, more so out of principal than actually needing her money.

Anyway, the court ordered her to pay $21 weekly and 25% of daycare. In my opinion, that's pretty much giving her a free pass. $21 doesnt even cover lunch money! But regardless...

Today we receive files from family court. She petitioned for the courts to modify the order so that she no longer has to pay us anything b/c she is unemployed, pregnant and her husband is on food stamps.

Please explain to me why the government even supports people like this?!!! You dont support the two children you have...but feel free to get pregnant and the govt will support you with medical, taxi rides to your appointments, food etc!

Her petition was denied...which I find amusing. But I cannot believe she had the nerve to try and use a pregnancy as an excuse to neglect her two existing children!

Sorry, just needed to vent. Vent over!!

Why have children if you can't even take care of the first two?!? Thank goodness your FH has custody of them, for their sake. Glad she was denied! She should be ashamed of herself.

That's my question. Most mothers would be doing everything under the sun to get their kids back. Not her, she just has another one so she can put less energy towards the ones she already has. As bad as this sounds, I hope she has the new one and just disappears altogether.

This is the reason we are trying to convince FSD's biomom to give up parental rights so that I can legally adopt her...I will be able to do much more for her than she is, seeing as she calls sporadically and saw her once since she left her when she was 2 (she is 7 now).

The system is ridiculous!! I am forever fighting with my ex aver things and compared to lot of people he is a freaking angel...and that says a lot. I have a friend who's ex was court order to pay only $25 a month in support and also took her back to court to fight the order claiming poverty...he also has several other 'new' children. He lost, thankfully, and had to pay the whooping $25. Soon after we were at a school event and he showed up with a giant bouquet of flowers for their daughter. I turned to my friend and said 'look...that's about 2 months support right there!' I am so sorry you are dealing with this, but just laugh it off. People are idiots!!
