Hang in there! We are in the process of buying a house now. The search is so frustrating we looked at about 15-20 before we found the one. You'll know when it's right don't settle!!! Where are you looking???

We are looking mainly in the north shore of Nassau. Hopefully we will come across something good soon.
I am in the same boat we have been looking for a few months now and we have to stay in East Meadow because FH is a chief in the fire department so it is difficult but i just keep telling myself to be patient and the right house will come along when it is supposed to!
Crashing, sorry! I know how you feel, I'm so sorry. I'm going through the same thing. Some houses are listed at top dollar and need so much updating it's not even worth it. The others that are half way reasonable are getting snatched up so quickly. I look online daily and have been going to see houses for a while. There's one I love, but it's way overpriced so I'm hoping the price will fall so we are keeping our eyes on it. The next time one comes up that seems like an OK deal I'm jumping on it. We also increased our price range, it helped a little but not that much. There was more available, but they seem like the overpriced ones. Good luck with your search. FH and I are looking into buying a condo- it is so stressful!!! we hate everything and feel like we won't have nearly the 20% needed for a down payment!!! idk how anyone can afford anything!!!....if only we didn't have student loans :( wahh!
