NWR: Vent about this weekends trip (Long!)
So this weekend there are 12 of us heading up to NH for our annual trip (we go EVERY year, but this year is by far the biggest group we have going up). So everyone is already there except for four of us (FH and I and another couple).
So the girl in the other couple (let's call her Lisa) mentioned to everyone that everyone should take off on Friday so we can all head up early. Immediately FH and I said we couldn't because of the wedding and honeymoon we have no vacation time left. So she was like alright then lets do a half day. My boss is always willing to let me go early on friday's. So FH and I are game.
We tell her that we can definitely leave early and the latest we'd be at her place to pick them up would be 5pm but I can probably get there earlier. Mind you, this was about two months ago when we came up with this plan.
So Yesterday she emailed me and was like, 'I'm such a baby, I haven't asked to leave early tomorrow. Joe (her BF) said he's leaving at 3 and should be at the house around 3:30-4' So at this point I was like WHAT!? So I asked her if she could leave work at 4:30 and get to her place at 5 so we can get her then. (I already knew I was able to leave work at 2:30, but I would suck up the two hours to pick them up).
So today I was like well FH doesn't want to wait any longer than 30 minutes for you guys, it's Friday there's always traffic etc. She goes 'Well that's rude, we'll drive ourselves up' and I explained to her taht if she leaves at 4:30 we can get them in time and not have to wait. She goes 'I can't leave at 4:30 so I won't get to my house until 5:30 then I have to pack etc. I don't want to rush for anyone so we'll just go up by ourselves'
So I'm POed but kind of feel sorry because we told them that we'd drive up, but to call US rude for not wanting to wait because she didn't have the B*lls to ask to get out of work early like the rest of us? These are vacation hours for us that we're taking off so we can sit around for you, no sorry.
Then she ha the nerve to say that they're going to take their time coming up since they don't have to wait for anyone KNOWING that we have a 7:30 dinner reservation for tonight for everyone.
Gah, all I wanted was a freaking vacation to relax but no, there's always drama.
