My job has undergone a huge transformation within the past 6 months, including but not limited to the laying off of several Communications Representatives, or call center operators if you will. The excuse was to 'save underhand costs' for positions that are 'unnecessary,' but truth is we need these individuals more than ever!
I am not at liberty to identify my employer, but I will say that I have had 3 different managers in the past 6 months, and it's only my latest manager who doesn't work well with me or anyone else for that matter. Vacation time that my previous manager had approved she denied, saying that I would be negatively impacting my co-workers and our customers if I took the day off. I have records which indicate that I was given the time off, and I was reassured of this only last week! This was the straw that broke the camel's back as far as I'm concerned. I love my co-workers, but the environment is just getting too tense and erratic.
As I had mentioned in previous threads, I have my Master's in Ed and have been affected by the city's hiring freeze. I took this job for a steady pay check and benefits, but now I'm just looking for an exit sign, and I'm willing to take a pay cut if it means I get to regain my sanity!

Re: NWR vent: My job's gotta go!
I am sorry you are going through this now. And especially with some many turnovers in the managers position, do you think that she will go now too?
What grade are you certified to teach? I can see if my sister's school is hiring. Let me know, FM me.

Thanks ladies! I was out sick yesterday, so I applied to a couple of admin positions at local universities. I am going to meet with my new manager today and show her that Inwas approved for the vacation in writing, and explain that I have been a loyal employee forma while ( 1 1/2 years) and that not only have I barely taken any days off, but thay I would never do anything to negatively impact the company such as taking off when not approved to do so.
It's been more of a manager rotation than manager turnover, although she was recently hired after a beloved manager was demoted for whatever stupid reason upper management could think up.
