I'm sorry girls I don't really post on here a lot but I need to vent! My nephew who is my RB was a premmie (3 lbs at birth). When FH and I got engaged he was only 6 months old and obviously didn't walk or really sit up. Instantly I wanted his sister to be my FG and him to be my) because he would be a year and half when I get married. In the past two months his dr and my sister became concerned because he wasn't sitting up or meeting his milestones. They started physical therapy with him and he still wasn't making any progress at all.To top it off he started to have seizuees now.My brother who is a neurosurgeon kept telling my sister that something is just not right and that he really needs to go to see another neurologist if the one that is seeing him doesn't have answer but he knew himself what was wrong but didn't have the heart to tell her.He finally went for his 10 month check up and the doctor sent him back to the neurologist today because he said that developmentally he is a one month old. I went with my sister for moral support and she told my sister that he has cerbal palsey and that he definaly won't walk by the time he is 3 because of his muscle loss and he might never walk or sit on his own. It was so heartbreaking to see my sister hear this news especially since she had twins that were born prematurely and passed away on mothers day two years ago and now she had to find this out a week before mothers day this year! She is such a strong person so I know she will be great with him but I feel horrible. I'm just really upset because all we kept joking about until today was how he would probably be so funny running down the aisle at church!! Sorry this was so long but I needed to vent and get this off my chest before I went to bed!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend, its going to be beautiful!!!

I'm sorry to hear that, it must be very tough for your family to hear the news. My heart goes out to you... An option for the wedding could be putting your sister and her husband in the bridal party and have them carry your nephew down the aisle as the ring boy.

I'm so sorry that you, your sister and your family is going through this. I'm sure its hard to celebrate during this difficult time. Its so great that you are there for your sister to console her and just listen to her. She's very lucky to have a sister like you!

I'm so sorry to hear this. Hopefully with physical therapy he will walk someday.
Additionally, I know this wasn't the whole point of the post but you could still include him as a ring bearer. I've seen kids included who are not yet walking. If you end up wanting ideas for how to include him, FM me.

Reading this made me teary...your sister and your nephew will need lots of support in the coming years and it sounds like they have the right family to do so.
I can't even imagine how your sister must be feeling, life is SO unfair sometimes.

Wow..so sorry for what your family is dealing with
As for him going down the aisle maybe even a little wagon so he can prop his back against the back..I've seen this in pics and it looks great

I am so sorry your going through this!!! I know its hard--- as I can relate but wont get into it now.
However, I agree with the above-- I've seen the wagon used (some people leave it red while others decorate it white or their wedding colors) and you could still incorporate him into the wedding and as emotional as it will be it will still be what you wanted! xoxo

Thanks girls for all your thoughts and prayers! My father was handicapped and we used to have to take care of him but I love the wagon idea! I even thought of this morning another idea. I just bought his sister a mini corvette that goes only 5 mph so I was hoping that maybe if we decorate it, she can drive him down the aisle.

I am so sorry that you and your family got this bad news. It would break my heart if it was my child or nephew.
Just remind your sister of how lucky she is to have him in her life, after what happened with the twins she needs to look at every day with him as a blessing. Special needs children can have an amazing and unique impact on a parent's life and once she gets over the shock and sadness she will find a way to get through it. Sending you lots of and support!!

I'm sorry to hear this. Early intervention really helps. Just make sure that your nephew gets the specialist he needs.
