NWR-Venting...

So FH went out and bought a motorcycle and I am not happy about it. I think they are so dangerous and I will worry about him any time he is out riding it. Needless to say, he's in the dog house right now!

Yikes! FH USED to own a motorcycle, thank goodness he no longer does. Hoping your FH stays safe!

Thank you! He's always wanted one, but I've never been a fan of motorcycles. They scare me. I will never stand in the way of what he thinks makes him happy so I have to respect his decision, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

FH has always wanted one and I am100% against it. I don't blame you for being pi$$ed

I would be pissed, not because of the safety thing, but he knows how you feel about it and didn't take that into consideration. Also that's a big purchase and you two should be making those kind of decisions together now that you are getting married. Silly boys, they never think.

Fh has a motorcycle and we ride together all the time. But yes they are dangerous and you have a right to be upset.
One of my close friends got into a terrible accident on his uncles motorcycle. He got hit by a guy in a hummer who ran a stop sign and broke his back, jaw, foot, a couple of ribs and ruptured spleen. When he recovered his wife made him get rid of his. Sadly its not the motorcyle rider you have to worry about its the people around him.
I do love fhs motorcyle though.

I didn't want my feelings about it to completely stop him from ever getting something that he really wants, but it still sucks because I think they're unsafe. As for the money situation, anything extra added on top of the wedding budget means he has to come up with the difference and he's good with money so he'll make sure that it happens.

oh no!! if FH did that, he would be in the dog house for a long time!!!! I see where your coming from about being worried and you don't want your feelings to stop him but at the same time, it is a safety factor and you should express to him you want him to be happy but you worry about his safety and thats why your upset!!!!

THIS is exactly my fear!!! I told him that it's not him riding a bike that I worry about, it's everybody else driving around him that I'm scared of! The bike riders aren't usually the problem.

Crashing!

No idea how I came across this thread but... FH did the same thing to me last summer! It got the better half of me for a really long time! Anxiety like you won't even believe!... I am now only starting to think the slight decent about it.

Our deal.... if it gets in the way of the wedding he needs to sell it and when we get pregnant... he's selling it! lol

My advice... try your hardest to be happy for him because it's something that makes him happy (trust me, I know its hard!) and maybe try riding with him so you can see why he loves it, and last... make sure he knows exactly how you feel about it!

good luck! FH is always in the dog house about it! lol

My FH owns one and I actually go riding with him once in awhile for I know he is an experienced rider. If I was in your shoes, I would be p*ssed too! A motorcycle is a big purchase. He should have consulted with you first.
