Re: NWR: Vertigo
Not me personally, but I've watched 3 people go through it and I wrote a research paper on it a couple years ago.
If it's you, good luck and feel better

Re: NWR: Vertigo
I've had it twice..both times were during allergy season...it was very bizarre...the room was spinning like a carousel and I had severe waves of nausea....my doc gave me a prescription for anti-vert (sp?) and it subsided...
My friend is an audiologist and recc. me going to be tested..but it never came back and it seams to only come when my allergies are bad..
Hope that helps!!

Re: NWR: Vertigo
I went and saw a neurologist who referred me then to an EN&T doctor...the general 'diagnosis' is that it might be Vertigo.
I passed out twice in the past three weeks and attributed it a combination of stress/migraines/weather....

OMG, I'm having the same problem, and thats what they told me a few weeks ago, too! But I went to a hemotologist and had my blood checked more thoroughly--- turns out that my body isn't absorbing iron, causing the weakness, dizziness, fatigue, and the fainting. It wasn't vertigo at all!
Again, good luck. It's a horrible feeling not knowing whats wrong with you.

I also have hypothyroid disease, so I saw my endocronologist as well, we checked my blood count - thinking it was the same as you and to also eliminate it from the 'matrix' of things it might be.
I'm glad you got checked out - that's so important b/c a lot of people just brush things off!!!! Hope you feel better!

same with me-turns out my iron level is a 7 which is pretty bad-I passed out a few times also-I would have the dr take blood to rule anything out.

chris, not sure if this helps...but FH was diagnosed with something called meneres disease which causes dizziness and is due to build up of water in the ear. He had constant ear infections his entire life and more recently began to have dizzy spells. the doctor told him he should reduce his sodium/alcohol intake, take antivert (you can buy it otc...its called meclizine...for motion sickness), and was prescribed a water pill. I HTH. I am aware of how frustrating this can be, let me know if I can be of any assistance. -J

Not yet, I'm scheduled for after the holiday's. AT least it's what I think I'm having done - they're going to test out my hearing, my eyes, and something else with my balance...is that what ENG is?

sounds like it. An ENG (Electronystagmography) it is a battery of tests that record eye movements.
How about radiology? Have you had a CT or a brain MRI?

well, it's not much... but with vertigo you really have go to through all these tests to rule out all the major issues first. The symptoms are scary, and I am sure you want to know the deal already ... but at the very least it sounds like your doc is following protocol - and not just giving you the run around. Or collecting extra copays!
