NWR: Weekend Getaway

Hey brides! MY FH and I wanted to get away this weekend. Either Sat-Monday or just one night. We thought about taking a trip to DC but figured with parking and a two night stay and all the museums we would spend a lot. Any suggestions on a weekend getaway? We want to get away from al the wedding planning plus we have a FULL weekend of pre-cana next weekend.

NWR: Weekend Getaway - Long Island Weddings

You should look into renting a place for two nights upstate! This time of year is beautiful upstate. It will definitely be peaceful and quiet..perfect for getting away from the planning. My Fiance and I used red cottage inc. last winter for a weekend getaway and it was AMAZING! we booked a cute cozy cottage with a fireplace and soaking tub. I definitely suggest it :) heres the website:

NWR: Weekend Getaway - Long Island Weddings

I just went to Bear Mountain Inn last weekend but only for the day and I left there saying we should have stayed over. It's so pretty and relaxing. you could go hiking, they have a small zoo and if you wanted to go shopping Woodbury Commons is close too. It's only 90 minutes away. Look into it for sure

We love DC. Just so you know all the museums & monuments are free. It was actually a cost effective weekend getaway for us. Also we booked our room through priceline at stayed downtown. It was awesome. I would look into it.

You could do Newport, RI it is beautiful there and a good place in the off season to get away. Cape Cod is also really nice as a romantic getaway in the off season.
Lake Placid could also be fun if you guys are fine with the cold.

FH and I go to Boston for 2 nights and it's perfect. There is so much fun stuff to do and the city is beautiful!

I was about to add Boston to my list too! We went there for 2 days and it was SO much fun!

We both love Boston and DC! We actually went to Boston a few weeks ago and stayed with my friend. There are lots of inexpensive things to do in either city.

I'm still trying to talk FH into going back to AC.... just for a night to relax and be away. or anywhere!

look at vrbo.com or homeaway.com we always find houses upstate to rent from there. I just rented a house in Cali (for April 2014) and when I lived in Cali for a summer I found the place on there too.

that place was the vacation that after we came back we knew we wanted to get married

it was one of my favorite trips ever, the town was adorable and that cabin was perfect. it was only like a 5 hour drive. plus on your way home you can stop at the original ben & jerrys! though to be honest it tasted the same as the one in Huntington lol.

and you can go on a sleigh ride....
