Hello, I used to do Weight Watchers (points) a few times, I went on and off it. I planned on going back as of Jan 1st. I know many of the point values by heart and have lost a good amount of weight on it everytime i do it. I do it on my own without actually going to meetings due to how well i know the diet.
However, i know now there is a new weight watchers diet. can someone explain the difference to me? if you have been on both, which is better?
should i re learn weight watchers or stick to what i know works?
Thanks :)

Hi!!
I was on the old and am on the new. I would say give the new program a try. The points values have changed but your daily target has, too. It basically (finally) takes carbs into consideration. So those 1 point VitaMuffins are now (but fruit is free). The elements are fat, fiber, protein and carbs.
Good luck!

I have done the old program and now I am doing the new program. I really like it and I have been very successful on it, I lost 4 pounds in two weeks.
The new program takes into account that you body digests protein different then carbohydrates. The points on the new program is harder in that you can not figure it out on your own. You need the book or a points calculator. The old program, was normally 50 calories a point.
I would go to the meeting pay for the one week. Get the new material and then you can just follow the program. I actully cancelled. My monthly pass and are just going to weigh myself weekly at home and post on the weekly ww post

I highly reccomend the new program! I've been on the old program for about 3 years now (lifetime member). But the new program takes so much more into consideration and promotes much healthier eating habits!

I'm going to do WW starting in January and am also nervous about the points, but maybe its a good thing to change things up a little.
If it doesnt work for you I suggest looking into Jenny. I lost 40 pounds in 5 months when I couldn't lose anything on WW. I needed more restriction because I found myself eating too many pretzels or other little things here and there. On Jenny it is difficult to go out to eat and you always have to bring your food with you wherever you go so thats why I'm sticking with WW this time around.
Good luck!!

Re: nwr: weight watchers
Hi ladies
I just joined last Monday and lost 2.6 in the first week. I too have done the old program too and was reluctant to do the new points plus system but I have to say I really like it.
Fruits and Veggies are mostly 0 points but all the carbs went up in points. Its nice to know if I'm still hungry at night before bed I can grab an orange or apple and not have to 'count' it. Having the fruit at 0 also is mentally making people choose a fruit as opposed to a 3 point snack....
Deff try it and keep your eye on the goal this week with all that yummy but high calorie Christmas food!!

Re: nwr: weight watchers
I tried the new program 2 weeks before Christmas and lost 2.6lbs my first week. I have not been doing a good job now with Christmas, etc but plan to go back on it 100% after NYE. I'm trying to follow it as much as possible this week, but I plan on enjoying NYE so I am not expecting a big loss.
