So I am thinking about joining WW, I would like to lose about 20 pounds... I go to the gym about 4 times a week and try to watch what I eat, but it doesn't seem to be working. So I am thinkingof giving WW a try. JOining online is half the price of going to the meetings and stuff.. does anyone have any opinions or experience with this?
UPDATE:
So I joined yesterday.. I signed up for 10 weeks, they had a special going on. I have a question for you WW girls- The thing they gave me says not to start exercising until week 3, but I have been going to the gym for months, and am not going to stop for three weeks, so my question is, am I supposed to add to my daily points allowance if I am going to the gym?

I was thinking about also joining on line... I am not sure though. My sister has lost over 40 pounds so far with Weight watchers so I am definitely considering it.

Re: NWR Weight Watchers
I organized Weight Watchers at work program a few years ago. In order to practice what I preached, I also joined and followed.
Weight Watchers is a balanced healthy way to loose weight. If you use the points system, it is fairly easy to keep track of your eating habits. It is a slower weight loss process because the idea is to modify your eating habits and retrain the eye to things like portion size. If that is what you are looking for, by all means give it a try.
A quick fix it is not, but it could help you to see where you have been going wrong...
The trick to eating on Weight watchers is greens...have steamed or raw greens with EVERY meal, and it will help (most are 0 points!!
Good luck- and I hope to see you tomorrow!!

Once you get going, it's reasy to keep on the diet. I've lost 15 lbs already. It's really helped me control my portions.
Good luck!

Re: NWR Weight Watchers
I just spent the last 20 minutes talking to a woman I work with. She is doing weight watchers on line and loves it. I may do it... it sounds really good.

Re: NWR Weight Watchers
I actually joined weight watchers in August of 2003. And I loved it. I was able to lose 33 pounds and I have actually keep all of it off so far. It is a great program really teaches you portion control and what the best things to eat. But I loved that I didn't feel like I couldn't eat certain things. I can't rave about it enough. I totally suggest it. FM me if you want more details or if you have more questions about it.

I too was thinking about joining with my sister. I would like to lose 15-20 pounds before the wedding in august 06. The problem is that I have NO will power. I just don't knwo if I will be able to do it.

Re: NWR Weight Watchers- update
Apparently when I joined yesterday it counted towards my 10 weeks, so I will start going to the meetings next week.

when I joined, I too was exercising already...I didn't stop going to the gym, but I didn't add the points on for exercise yet. I already knew that even though I had been exercising, I was eating too much- so I waited a week or two before adding the points.
Warning though- you WILL be very hungry- steamed spinach was my BEST friend during that time. I would eat a pot of it while i was cooking (just S & P- nothing else) no points...
I also used my exercise points for the weekends towards dinners out with FH & friends...eventually you will adjust.

Oh but don't work in those points that you earn from the gym and here's why....they don't want you to think you have extra points to spend yet since in the first 2 weeks you will lose the greatest amount of weight. So keep going to the gym BUT don't add in the extra points you will get....
