NWR (well kinda)... long vent sry

FH and I are currently living with my parents. Enough shame in that but our apartment efforts were put on hold earlier this year when he got laid off. So here we are planning our wedding and obviously planning to move out. I'd finally convinced him that we should look into buying a house since he's been talking about latey. I have spent the last 3 days planning and convincing him that we could afford it..... we just had one problem

We both have bad credit but I went to a bank and they allowed a consigner for mortgage loans. So I thought my FMIL could help us out since she has out us through so much lately and she has good credit..... Not only did she screen FH's calls all weekend, but she txted him today and once he told her what he wanted to talk to her about... she just stopped txting.

I almost expected it since she's been completely unreliable in the past, but I'm just really sad that I know have to go back to apartment searching. I'm so tired of living in 4 rooms. We currently live in the city so unless we intend on paying mortgage prices for a decent place in a decent neighborhood, we're stuck in the projects.....

I'm just really disappointed right now. I had it all figured out and we have no one else that we can even ask for help...

Have you thought about one of those rent to own type places? I think they take a part of your rent towards the downpayment and it will give you guys time to improve your credit.

FH and I also live in an apt (upstairs in my parents house) - we dont mind it at all!! Why not try to get an apt out of the city in brookly or queens where you can get more for your $$

we plan on staying here as long as possible - its a 2 bedroom so we should be good for 5 yrs or so... then we will see whats up....

no worries it will all work out - the impt thing is that you are living together!!! lol
