The Pindar vineyards are beautiful, and the neighboring vineyards are very close. Just a warning, when we went though (in late September) , it was jam packed.
Definitely a nice way to spend a day though.

We love Paumonak (sp?) and Beddell. Paumonak has this really nice deck that you can go and sit on and the Vineyards are right there while you drink and eat. It's really beautiful. We always bring our own food our with us and it's a really great time.

Pindar is a great one -- as far as I know, they still have flights / tastings that are free (or at least reasonably priced). Lenz has some of nice wines, as well as Bedell, Osprey's Dominion, and Castello di Borghese.
Pelligrini and Raphael have REALLY pretty tasting rooms.
If you go in warmer weather I highly recommend Sherwood House. Everything is outside that's why you need nice weather. The people are super friendly and so down to earth...small family run.

Definitely go see Raphael.... I used to work there and I loved going to work just because the place is so damn gorgeous haha. If I wasn't the bridal attendant there for 5 years I would have gotten married there!!
That is my neck of the woods... there are tons. Pindar is probably the most well known, Macari and Pellegrini are really nice, and Martha Clara.

Re: NWR-What are some nice vineyards out East?
OOOH I love the wine questions, I feel so helpful!!!
Definitely stop at Martha Clara...they're one of the first ones you'll hit on the strip. They have a lot of 'girly' wines...lots of sparklings, whites, blushes. Very mild, very drinkable. They have a nice tasting room and gift shop. They also have a new wine they came out with called Sabor, it's a white wine infused with pineapple and coconut, so it's like a pina colada. And it's delicious! It gave me nightmares that night, but delicious lol.
Osprey's Dominion has a HUGE tasting room, and it's gorgeous. The wine is also very good. Pretty gazebo out back, nice grounds, very open and airy.
One of my faves is Pugliese, it's a smaller vineyard, but they're the only ones on the island that use the White Niagra grape in their wines, which is the same grape used in Welches grape juice. So their stuff is very sweet, very drinkable.
Pindar is the old stand by...we find it to be a little crowded, so we don't go as much, plus we buy in the store all the time, so it's not a novelty to us.
I would skip Bedell...they were very rude when we went there.
We've also been to Borghese and Raphael...Borghese is very small, and the wine is pretty standard. Raphael is beautiful to the eye, but the wine has a very oak barrel taste...it's a little too harsh for my taste.
HTH!!!

Palmer, Pindar, Martha Clara and Duck Walk are all good places to go where they get a lot of traffic and you don't need to know wine to enjoy it. At Pindar you can taste the wines of several vineyards. FH bought a bottle of Jason's Vineyard because he liked the name. Duck Walk has great inexpensive wines and a nice tasting room but its on the South Shore, so if you are aiming to hit more then one its not the best choice.
A nice vineyard that gets less traffic is Castello di Borghese

Oh thank you so much Your not a Wino you are just very informative about wine . I prefer fruity more sweet wines compared to the rough dry stuff..I will try to coax FH to go to Martha Clara.. lol@ nightmares from the wine
