NWR: what Broadway shows have you seen recently?

Considering getting my Mom & Stepfather tix to a Broadway show as a gift for all their help in the wedding . . but haven't heard much about anything that's out right now & nothing seems to be a blockbuster. Any suggestions?

Im a huge broadway show buff. I reccomend Hairspray, Aida and Phantom of the Opera in that order. Too bad my top pick closed les miserables.

Chicago is my absolute favorite. Its funny, sexy and has great singing & dancing.

I vote for Phantom... Its got the whole love theme going for it too... And its a classic! I loooove Phantom!

I loved Mamma Mia (Abba music) & Hairspray. 42nd Street was great as was Chicago. Phantom has been around for about 15 years & personally I think it's tired but it's still going. Heard good things about Gypsy & Movin' Out (Billy Joel music) & can't wait to see them both. Also Thoroughly Modern Millie was good.

go see 'i love you , you're perfect, now change'. even if this was not a wedding site i would reccomend. i have seen it a 3 times. it is a series of musical comedy skits on dating , then engage, married, etc...... i always tell people to go see it and they always love it. it is ow the longest running (8 years)off braodway show, right in the theater district.it is guaranteed winner for anyone. oh ,and you could probably get it at the TKTS discount booth in manhattan, if youa re willing to wait in line.

We saw Nine over the weekend. It was good, but didn't blow us away. Of all the other shows people have mention, I would vote for The Lion King. We took our parents a few years ago, and they loved it. In addition to the incredible puppetry and stage design, it is not as reliant on one or two particular stars, which I think makes it a good gift (b/c sometimes stars leave, are off one night due to sickness, etc.).

I recently saw Hairspray and loved it. I saw Mamma Mia last year and loved that, too.

if they haven't seen the Producers, that's a great show.

You can't go wrong with 'Beauty and the Beast.'

I was a little diappointed with Phantom

I LOVED Lion King.

I also liked Miss Saigon..but that is not playing anymore

Definitely see Gypsy! It has not gotten the credit it deserves. I absolutely loved it. Very funny and sad.
