in a living/tv room if you have black leather couches??
Do beige, coffee, mocha, cream colors go? Should we just stick to white???

They definitely go. I'm a fan of wacky colors on the walls (orange! green! purple!) but I think any neutral tones will go well. The lighter the color, the bigger the room seems and vice-versa.

my art work/decorative pieces are BLACK AND DARK BLUE

i dont want to paint the walls white but painting them a dark green (to section off part of the living room to make it a dining room isnt an option right now .. i mean it is.. but my living room is STRANGEEEEEEEEEEEEE)

take a look at pics on line of rooms with black couches. And there are a lot of sites that you can create a virtual room where you can figure out what colors you wanna go with. If you want to be on the more adventurous side go with a vibrant color. I think beige is so common that we all figure its the safest choice

go for the slate family......
they are earthy so its toned down and the black will really look nice
