my friend has been with her bf for 5 years now. They fight every so often like normal couples do. BUT he flirts a lot with other girls...i mean through texts nothing in person. just friends of his that are also her friends (and if u ask me not real friends at all). anyway, the other day, he was talking to his friend and telling her the things hed do to her and so forth. i dont know the details. and later stopped and texted that he would never do them because he would never cheat.
in my opinion, this IS cheating...am i wrong to think that way?

Re: NWR: what do u consider cheating?
Yes that's cheating IMO. If the thought is in the person's head and he's acting in some way (i.e. texting) I consider that cheating. Relationships are so personal and should be filled with trust, honesty, and just the two people - when you start playing with those key things, that's when you get into cheating territory.

i think thats cheating. he knew it was inappropriate. if it's intimate with someone else in any way, it's cheating.

Re: NWR: what do u consider cheating?
I would thinking that is a form of cheating. The idea is obviously in his head to want to do something and to a point, he is acting on it (just not physically). It would be very hurtful to your friend to see something like that and it's always going to be in the back of her head 'Is it really just talk or is he doing something?'

Totally cheating! If my bf was doing that to me with my so called friend, I would be devastated! Like how inappropriate. A relationship is all about trust respect and honesty.

ITA with everyone! In one way shape or form this is cheating. Even though he is not physically acting on it. He is thinking it, and putting in writing that he is thinking it. It would drive me crazy if i knew my boyfriend was doing something like this.

Re: NWR: what do u consider cheating?
its def more of an emotional level of cheating than just a random hook up at the bar... I would actually be more upset about the sexting then just one night he got drunk at a bar and made out with a girl. (not that thats ok either) but it just seems that in this case there is more of a wanting and more of a connection, and most of the time this is how the real cheating starts, sh*t rolls down hill so one day he is texting, then they go for drink and they brush against each other, then its a quick kiss, then its sleeping together. when does it end?!

Even though he's not engaging in the act...this shows that he wants to do it...so IMO that's cheating.

That IS cheating IMO! The fact that he finds it ok to write things likt that to other girls is def not a good sign! And if her friends are involved they are NOT friends at all! If he loved her he wouldn't be writing anything like that to anyone or flirting!
