I have a Cuisinart non-stick one on my registry but thinking of changing my mind.
Thanks girls.

Re: NWR: What is a good brand for a Pot set?
I've had my farberware pots for 10 years now and they're amazing! My mom got them for me as a gift because she has Farberware pots that she got as a wedding gift. Her pots are now 45 years old and still good as new.
I've heard all clad and calphalon are also really good too.

all-clad is probably my number one pick. It's expensive, but its well worth every penny. I have the cuisinart one from BB&B only b/c it's not THAT expensive, and I know that someone would buy it for me if it wasn't too much. The people at my job wound up getting it for me :)

A sautee pan is my saving grace. I use it for everything. I love how its small, but it has to high sides to it. I love making sauce and meatballs in it and its great for rice, since it has a cover! My FMIL has a Jaime Oliver one that is to die for! IT's like sautee pan heaven lol I am such a dork..but I love to cook and I love having GOOD tools to cook with.
If you don't get a set that comes with one, invest in a really good one. You will be very happy you did.

Everyone needs a saute pan. My set didn't come with one either so I went out and bought one myself a few years ago. I use it all the time!

FH said we can just add one if it doesn't come in the set but I already have a lasagna pan, a wok, a huge stock pot, a griddle, and a roasting pan. How many pots am I going to have people by me lol!

I would personally stay away from the non stick pots. No one truly knows what those chemicals they use to make the pots do to you. I would go for something in stainless steel.

lol you do have alot, but you have a good set. If you don't cook much, then you wont need the sautee pan. You can just use a stock pot, or a regular frying pan for some of the things I mentioned above. I just love the sautee pan. It's my favorite if you can't tell already haha
I find myself pulling that out to use more often than anything else.

Re: NWR: What is a good brand for a Pot set?
I am a chef definitely have this answer nailed down! The best 2 lines out there are All-Clad & Calphalon. They are pricey but last forever. Also I always recommend getting 2 non-stick frying pans for eggs, etc.. a small & large one. For the pots, your best bet is the entire set.

I bought Farberware pots and pans set. I love them! My mom got them for her bridal shoer in 1981 and she still has them and uses them! My set didn't come with the saute pan either but I registered for one seperate and got it For the price, they are very well worth it!

I've heard non-stick is bad for you and can flake off, plus you have to remember not to use metal utensils to avoid scratches so I went with stainless steel. I got the Emeril pots because they're $400 cheaper than any other brand I saw and I will probably need new pots eventually anyway because I'm not that great at taking care of my things.

Re: NWR: What is a good brand for a Pot set?
My sister in laws brother is a chef and he always recommends all-clad. That's what I put on my registry. The stainless steel one too, not the non stick cuz that can wear off from what i've been told. Both the people at williams-sonoma and my sister in laws brother told me that the all-clad stainless steel is the best.

Re: NWR: What is a good brand for a Pot set?
i registered for the cuisinart greenware.. it is non stick but it doesnt flake. it is environmentally friendly.
i still sometimes get hesitant because i cant put them in the idshwasher and i dont like to wash dishes.
now i am having second thoughts.. should i change it?
i originally picked thecalphalon stainless steel set, but it was 600 and didnt think anyone would buy it.
