This will be the first year that I am sending them out (from DH and I). My mom usually takes care of it, but now it's up to me.
Any ideas for what to write? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year sounds a bit vague to me. Any suggestions would be wonderful! TIA!

As long as you know you are sending to Christians, I'd say 'Merry Christmas' - I know I kind of get annoyed at all the 'Happy Holiday' stuff everywhere - seems so politically correct. JMO.
You could say 'Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful Christmas... and all our best wishes for a healthy, happy 2009!'
By the way, for our Jewish friends, I sent the adorable snowflake 'Happy Holiday' cards in Tessa's boutique at Even Star paperie . com

LOL I always think about what to write too!! I actually check the insides of other cards for inspiration. This year I went with : Wishing you and yours a wonderful winter!
Geez, I just sent out the cards with the too and from our names, didn't write anything extra!

Re: NWR: What to write in X-mas cards
i always include a very brief update about what went on in our lives during the year (most significant) - but i haven't even started my cards so i may just say merry christmas and happy new year

Wishing you a year of good health, good friends, and good times... (you can substitute good friends with good food, too ;) )
