my fsil is in a new relationship - they are not calling each other BF & GF but you can sense that they are into each other.
anyway - he is going 2b godfather for his nephew and the christening is this weekend - she wants to acknowledge it by giving him a card and possibly a gift for the baby.
but what is the best way for her 2 do this?? does she addressit to him and the family - even though she has not met them?
what does she give the baby? if anything?
what would you do??

Re: NWR - what would you do??
I think she should send a card to the family, or perhaps give it to him to give to his family. I think a gift would be too much for the beginning of a relationship. Is she going to the christening or a party afterwards?

I personally would only give him a card...if she hasnt met the family, I think its kind of weird to pass on a gift...is she going to the Christening?

i think she is waiting to see if she gets invited from him....
so now that spins things as well - if she goes 2 the party - does she bring a gift??
and how should she write it out? to BF & family? or should she just put the babies name??
sorry 2b so spazzy - i am excited 4 her...

Definately only a card especially if she never met these people...It would be a little weird for them to receive a gift from someone they never met!

If she gets invited to the party, then of course she should bring a small gift, but if not, then a card just for him would be good enough-and a very nice gesture.

I would get a card and put the baby's name, the christening is for the baby, not the godparents. If she's invited to the after-party then she could give a GC for Babies R Us. I'm sure the parents will appreciate all the help they can get!

I would definitely go with a gift certificate...and if she wants to she can get a cute picture frame for 'Baby's First Christening' or something like that...$50 is an appropriate amount if she has never met them...

If I was really into the guy, I'd send him over w/ a card addressed to the baby and the parents, maybe w/ a stuffed animal or something inexpensive.
