In relation to the strike - I could wake up & drive my car into the city with my friend before 5 a.m. OR ride in at a more reasonable time on his motorcycle. Am I a sicko for prefering sleep over warmth???

The car, no doubt... There is no way I could handle that kind of cold... think about the traffic you will be stuck in and when you are moving, how the cold air will be whipping against your face.

I would do the car...wake up a little early and be comfy w/ the radio and heat.

I don't know about the commute from LI, but on Friday morning (before 7am) with the threat of the strike major highways were a PARKING LOT.
If you decide to take the car ride, it will definitely have to be by 5am...no later.
If you want to sleep in later, and take that dangerous driving between lanes situation, dress warmly, you'll defrost!

you'll have to be in your destination or on side streets by 5 am... so you are really talking about leaving around 4 or so...
are we sure motorcycles will be allowed??? can you take LIRR?

I guess I should have said where I would be driving from, it would be from Brooklyn Heights to 14th Street. I don't know, I guess it is only for a few days (before I leave for vacation), I should suck it up and just get up early!

Yes you are a sicko . While your getting extra sleep I suggest you take extra comfort in your blankets b/c your going to freeze on your way to work. PLEASE take the car

I've riden with FH in December before. It isn't bad. Just dress in layers.
