I am in LPN school and a friend of mine told me today in confidence that a guy that was in our program(he got kicked out because he failed a series of tests) stole a copy of the test that we are having tomorrow. He gave the test to 3 girls in my class and now they are cheating because they all have the test and know whats on it.
I am soooooo upset. I know this is soooooooo wrong and I want to tell but I do not want to get my friend mad at me for telling. No one who has the test is a friend of mine.
What do you girls think I should do.
Should I tell someone or just let them get away with this......Dont forget we are going to school to be nurses...........would you want a nurse talking care of you or a loved one who cheated?
Please help!!!!!!

maybe send an email to your teacher. tell the teacher that you heard someone talking and they said he stole a copy of the etest (or that someone did) and to please not use your name.

i agree
report it but only anonymously. . .
I wouldn't report it if you have to reveal your identity . . . .
i know it stinks, but sometimes things can backfire on you. . . so i would just be careful!

The issue is the only people who'know' are the 3 girls the kid who stole the test and my friend. My friend told me and 1 other person. If I tell my friend is gonna know either me or the other girl told. and the kid who stole the test is gonna know my friend told someone.
I wish I could tell the teacher without her making a big deal about it and just change the test.

Re: NWR: What would you do???
not necessarily.. who is to say that the teacher didnt just realize it? I would just ask her to not allude to the fact that someone told her but that she found out on her own.
and if youa re going to tell her I wouldnt say that someone told you but that you over heard some people, but not sure who they are. they might ask you to say who had the test

Yes that is what I was thinking i was going to suggest that she say she counted the tests and she found 1 was missing...........

Re: NWR: What would you do???
You definitly need to let your teacher know. Dont just assume that the tests will be new. You should find some way to let your teacher know annonymously. Maybe go to the head of the dept. (who doesnt know you by name) and tell them whats gonig on and they can pass the info along to your teacher. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: NWR: What would you do???
You should definitely tell somebody or find a way to do it anonymously. Nurses are in charge of doses and other things that are extremely important and those three morons could end up doing damage if they don't 'really' know what they are doing.
I don't want to be the poor idiot who gets stuck with one of those three at my bedside...

Re: NWR: What would you do???
i would tell anonymously, but be prepared for consequences. when i was in school, there was in similar situation where some students cheated and it was reported and the trauma nearly shut down our medical program. i dont know how your program treats cheating, but after our incident, nothing was the same again. it was worth it because i doubt anyone had the balls to cheat after that.
FYI: if it got out to hospitals or other colleges that students from your program 'cheat', you may be looked at differently and even have problems finding jobs later on...word spreads quickly. so by telling now then your program hopefully shows no tolerance of this behavior and throws these people out so that your schools reputation is saved from future cheaters....

Re: NWR: What would you do???
I don't think I would say anything. You should try to just focus on you and study so that you do well. At least you will know you earned your grade.
