NWR: What would you do...or rather how would you do it?
A friend of mine just recently got a new job to 'hold her over' until the job she was waiting for came through. Well, that other job might be coming through sooner then she thought. She has been at her current job for almost 3 months. She would rather the other job (better pay, bigger company etc) how would YOU tell the current job you are leaving, for what reasons? She can't say it isn't working out because it is clear to everyone there it is. It just isn't something she loves. Advice is much needed, I don't know what to say.

she should tell them that while she does like working there, its not what she truely wants to do long term and she has to do what is in her best interest and follow up other on this opportunity, and give adequate notice and leave on good terms

Perfect! In the end, it's about HER and her best interest - and most companies should understand this.

I would tell them that while it has been a great experience working there, another opportunity has come along that I can't refuse...and give at least two weeks' notice.

She just needs to be truthful and say her dream job has opened up for her and thank them for the opportunity they gave her.
