FH and I are in the process of finding a home and currently we do not technically live together. I want a place that we can call ours but I don't want to be at his parents house and he doesn't want to be at mine. He just called and said his Brother's basement apartment is opening up and offered it to us. I kind of sometimes can't stand his brother but I would like to get somewhere where we can call home.
What's your thoughts? Is anyone in this position?

Depends on how intrusive your BIL will be. Will they be up and down all the time? Are you going to be insured your privacy and space? If so, sounds like a good deal. But you need to set up your boundries ahead of time.

depends if the FBIL is gonna be 'all up in your grill' LOL
I live at the FMIL now, but she doesn't bother me or the FH.
If it will save you $$ then go for it
but if the $$ saved isn't worth the grief, then find a small
studio or 1 BR apt.
No amount of money or space is worth losing your sanity

Well my FBIL's SIL lives there now with her Boyfriend and they are now moving out. I believe they have their own privacy. I also love my future niece and nephew but I don't want to be stuck babysitting all the time either.

no. get your own place! take it from me, FH and his brother own their home together, he is upstairs, and fbil is downstairs, and its a friggin pain in the assss. there is always the , well are we too loud, we can hear the kid crying, they took over the whole driveway, its just not easy because family always thinks they can say whatever they want to each other all the time.
its better to pay a little more, and have peace of mind. there are so many apartments for rent right now, you could event get a whole house. depends on where you are looking
