NWR- When Buying a house-what to ask??

What to ask when seeing a house??

DH & I are going to start looking at houses. We are scheduling a couple of viewings, what type of questions should we ask when looking at these houses?? Also who pays the realtors fees??

Thanks

oh boy there are a million questions to ask.

Taxes
last time roof was done - how old is it

last time boiler or oil burner was replaced - how old is it

look fro termites in the basement

why do they want to move?

how is the school district.

the seller pays the broker fees.

are the walls plaster or sheetrock.

how are the utility bills

do all the appliances come with the house- frig, dishwasher, washer/dryer

how are the neighbors

etc....................

also ask how old the windows are,

ask about the STAR tax discount if any,

if looking in suffolk - ask if the house is on a cesspool or connected to the sewer,

electric wattage and when it was last updated,

if there are carpets - ask what is under them

I'm a realtor, so if you have any questions about the home buying process just send me FM. i'm always here to help!!!

PS - the seller pays the brokers fees so you can work with any realtor, not just the one that's listed the house you want to see! but keep in mind, since the seller pays the fees then the realtors (both the selling and buying broker) work for the sellers' best interests. Alot of people dont realize that!

u might be able to tell by looking at them..

you can also try to pull up the carpet urself and look for hardwood floors.

Thanks girls,

I have a few more questions:

1. What does Cvac mean?

2. I heard that most sellers price thier house alot higher than its worth so that they have room to negotiate, so how do you know what a reasonable offer is?? for example a house is priced at $600,000 would an offer of $500,000 be unreasonable?

3.What does a crawl space basement mean??
