NWR - When FH is moody.. ....

how do you handle him?? do you ignore him or fight back & tell him to snap out of it.??

My FH has been in a bad mood all week. i know its job related and lack of sleep... Hellloo who gets a solid 8 hrs sleep??!!

i try to bite my tongue but sometimes i really feel like punching him..sometimes i just stay clear of him too.

just curious how you girls handle.

thanks !

depends on what hes in a bad mood about...alot of times i try to help him depending on what it is...Fh has been real tired with work lately hes been working EVERYDAY for 2 weeks straight even saturday and sunday, and has to do it this weekend again he hasnt been moody though but he can get pretty moody. I just try to show him a different perspective and make him feel better about the situation.

If hes moody and really pisses me off, i sometimes go off and say to suck it up lol but i try not to do that often.

I tend to try and show him the good point of view. If he's working like crazy - i tell him then how else can you appreciate your day off....things like that...

If he gets too snippy though - i tend to walk away....

You are totally not alone!

i try to plan something nice to do, keep his mind off what is stressing him out. Either that or just relax together.

yeah thats a good idea find a way that will help him relax...I actually wanted to get FH a massage at a spa but he doesnt have any weekend free for a while, this weekend he works, the following he'll be at a bachelor party. BUT what i said i would do is when he gets to my house saturday after work, im gonna set up the jacuzzi for him and then give him a massage after.

hes hasnt been moody though this time lol so makes me feel bad to see him so exhausted now...Plus this week he got me this hair product i use the only one that works for me but the salon that i used to get it from doesnt have it anymore and i was sooooo annoyed by this...It was something small but the fact that he even thought about it and asked his friends gf who is a hairdresser to try and find it for me and she did was nice, lol doesnt take much to make me happy hahahaha. AHHH i think im gonna do the massage thing at a spa too, even if he cant do it now, maybe the 2nd week in oct would be good and ooo it'd be perfect, thats spa week

Believe it or not, FH gets moody only when I'M pms'ing...how weird is that??? It's like freakin' clockwork! When I'm moody and emotional, he is moody too!!! I always joke with him that he has sympathy PMS and he doesn't even know it! LOL

I try to point out why he is being like that (job, money, empty stomach, etc) and then he can't be as moody when the stuff is pointed out objectively. If he wants to be moody, I let him and I listen to him. Sometimes it is rough when there is stuff that needs to get done and he is being difficult, and I know that my being kind and objective makes him mad--he likes to get mad and yell-- but I butter him up as much as I can and try never to complain about how he is making me feel by doing that until his moodiness is over.

When people are feeling bad about themselves, the last thing they are capable of doing is feeling bad for you too, it just exacerbates the moodiness and they are like 'oh great, now I have another thing to feel like **** about.

Re: NWR - When FH is moody.. ....

It all depends on what is causing the moodiness and how long it is lasting.

Usually I try to talk to him about it but if it is work or something like that I just let him and do my own thing and just try to not add to it. If I have to add it then I say -- I know the timing s*cks but ....

If he is just being a baby about something I let him know and feel no sympathy for him (and vise versa).

Right now he has been working like crazy -- he has his job which is demanding and now he is starting his own company so he spends a lot of time in the evening on his side clients so I just try and make it easier any way I can because I know his own company is affording us to do a lot of things now and hopefully will mean I won't have to work when we have kids.

So if anyone needs IT help -- let me know (had to give him a plug hahah!)

depends most of the time ill just ignore him or take time away..its really not worth a fight..or sometimes ill do something to cheer him up (bring him his favorite ice cream, or something..that usually helps break the mood)

Re: NWR - When FH is moody.. ....

well since most of the time i cant see him when he is moody i let him take it out on me haha

but he gets very moody over his work- he works in an armory fixing weapons and alot of paper work and he is the head of the armory for his base over in Japan. So he has alot of work and only 2 other people to help him. And he also has to yell alot and higher ups get on his back because they want something and when they want it they want it NOW...so when he has time to call me i let him vent and yell on the phone and then he gets over it and says please forgive me i am sorry i didnt mean to yell and take it out on you...but i know he cant yell at an officer so i let him yell at me hahaha

its works and we are both happy because i know he isnt doing it on purpose!!

usually i leave to go shopping and take his credit card- when the bill comes in i remind him that his moodiness stresses me out and spending money is the only thing that makes it better
