NWR- When should you weight yourself?

When is your weight accurate on the scale? Is it when you wake up before you have eaten/drank anything?

Just make sure whatever you do, its the same time every week. You shouldn't way yourself daily.

I need to stop doing this. Thank you for writing it.
I'm going to put the scale away and only pull it out once per week.

To the OP, yes- weigh yourself at the same time for consistency and note that during different times in your menstrual your weight may be effected by bloating.

I am guilty of weighing myself everyday. I weigh myself every morning except when I eat a lot the night before, I might skip that day. I like to see my weight so if it goes up I can make sure I do a little better with eating that day.

Yup, OP you are right. When you first wake up, before you eat or drink anything! Also after your number one and two for the morning will help

I don't weight myself often but when I do I usually do it at noon... I figure that its in the middle of the day so it would be more accurate. However, that is just my theory lol. I think you are supposed to do it in the morning.

I weigh myself when I go to the gym after work with my clothes and shoes on and I use the same scale every time. It's basically the same weight as the weekend when I weight myself earlier.

It's not like your weight fluctuates THAT much during the day that it matters what time of day you weigh yourself. What matters more is that you use the same scale and make sure you wear the same type of clothes (e.g. don't weigh yourself with sneakers on today and without them tomorrow).

You should weigh yourself first thing in the morning but I stopped.....it was driving me crazy

You should just weight yourself once a week at the same time and same day of the week.

Your weight fluctuates daily and not only that but you weight different amounts at different points in the day.

Some people prefer to weight themselves in the morning because you tend to be lighter, since you have nothing in your stomach yet.

It all depends on when you prefer... but again as long as it's consitant.

I weigh myself everyday when I wake up. I like to weigh myself everyday to keep my weight in check. If I eat badly one day, I see the difference on scale so it's motivation for me to keep eating healthy.

It should be in the morning for many reasons, because you haven't eaten or drank anything yet, but also because as the day goes on you swell, etc. I used to weigh myself like 3 times a day, but I was starting to give myself a complex so I stopped doing that. Now I try NOT to weigh myself at all because every time I do the number is higher than the last

I weigh myself every morning; I just got a digital scale, because I think it's more accurate, AND I can see it better than trying to figure out each of those little lines!!!! Mary MOB

BE KIND TO YOURSELF and only weigh yourself in the morning and try to avoid doing it often. I lost 50 lbs for the wedding and have 2 weeks to go - had a tough weekend eating/drinking wise with another friends party and another's wedding - totally indulged and then made the mistake of weighing myself in the afternoon Monday and it said I had gained almost 5 lbs. I wanted to shoot myself. But I simply took a deep breath, went to the gym and did cardio the past couple of days and got back on a normal, healthy eating pattern and I'm back down to where I was. So your weight can really fluctuate depending on time of day, if you have your monthly affliction etc. Try to keep a clear head.

i honestly don't think it is ever a good time to weigh yourself...you just go by what you look like and how you feel...muscle weighs a lot more than fat so that can discourage you when you have been kicking butt working out. Look at inches that you are losing instead

The 'muscle weighs more than fat' rule is true but women don't really put on much muscle to make that true since women don't have enough testosterone to bulk up.
