NWR: Where are my NJ girls -- or girls who know NJ?!?!

Hey Jersey girls.

What are some towns near Red Bank (within a half hour or so) that are nice, but relatively inexpensive to live in?

TIA!

Hazlet/Holmdel are pretty nice they are 117 on the parkway. Redbank is 110? right?

There is a ton of new construction in hazlet i think the avg prce is around 400k.

Thanks! I appreciate it! (I have no idea what exit Red Bank is lol)

Oh, just looking to rent, for now, but if house prices aren't that bad, apartments shouldn't be, either!

I know, Red Bank is expensive. Is it out of the question to find a decent 2 bedroom for about $1000/month?

Thanks, girls!

I don't want to say too much yet, but, FH might be getting a job in Red Bank. And, we'd be moving very soon, if that were the case.

Hopefully we can find something a little north of Red Bank, and that will make us even closer to my parents on LI. Plus, I think I'd be able to commute to Staten Island and teach in NY again, it is close enough, right?

I'm just trying to take a proactive approach and start searching the area in case we wind up going, at least I have an idea as to where to look.

i asked my boss- he says theres not many places to rent he has no clue.....its kinda far but if you drive you'll be okay...if my boss drives it takes him about 45 minutes due to traffic.

When we drive from S.I. to redbank its about an hour or so

Yes it takes us about 30-45 minutes to come back to Staten Island (where we live now) from FH's parents house which is 117.

SI expressway traffic can be awful though.

The SI expressway might be the worst road on earth. It's in heavy competition with the Cross Bronx, though.

How can such a short road have so much goddamn traffic???? It makes me sad.

And, I hate the bus lane.

Ferry is all the way on the other side of SI, so you would have to cross over from Jersey and drive to the other side of staten island. The ferry is 25 minutes and it takes you to downtown manhattan next to battery park.

Ohhhh..... okay. I thought that there was a NJ to NY ferry, for some reason.

I'm totally Jersey clueless.
