NWR: Which is the Best Turkey

I am going to make Thanksgiving dinner this year and don't know which brand turkey to buy. I am leaning towards Butterball but I noticed the supermarkets advertise Shadybrook Farms alot. I have no clue, please help LOL

i usually buy shady brooks and it always taste good.

People say Bell & Evans is the best because their all natural. OK....so, what are Butterball Turkeys........un-natural? I've been having Butterball turkeys on Thanksgiving forever. I think they are de-lish. To me, a whole Turkey is a whole turkey. Most of the taste comes from how you prepare it. You can get a whole cooked turkey from 'The Jive Turkey' in Brooklyn. www.thejiveturkey.com It's deep fried..........people say they are very good. I don't know about that.

I've used both Butterball & Shady Brook Farms - either works.

when they say butterball is un-natural they mean they use alot of flavor additives and chemicals so it depends on your preference.

Thanks ladies. Based on your comments I think either turkey (Butterball or Shady Brooks) will be good.

We get an organic, free range turkey from a health food store in our town (Rising Tide)...honestly it is awesome turkey and I loooove it

i usually get shady brook. One year FMIL bought it and got a kosher turkey. it was one of the best ive ever had.

WE JUST GOT SHADYBROOK..FRESH TURKEYS ARE ON SALE AT STOP & SHOP :)

my fam is psychotic and insiste on having butterball... so i know of nothing else... usually i buy the turkey and all hell broke loose when i bought a fresh one instead of a frozen... part of my fam thought we were gonna get diseased bc it was fresh and in the fridge for too many days... ya know what, it was one of the best turkeys i can remember...

LOL that is funny. But you brought up a good question, which is better fresh or frozen? I was thinking of getting fresh but then I figured I couldn't buy it to the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
