NWR: Which to choose?!
I've been offered 2 jobs, a leave replacement until June in Queens or a TA position in a Nassau school district. I'm pressed for time and dont know waht to do! Any thoughts?
Search in your own words. Describe what you need or ask a wedding planning question.

I would take the leave replacement. The way I see it: Its MUCH harder to find a teaching position than TA position. Even though you'll be done in June, come september, you have something to add to your resume. Plus, if you cant find a full time teaching job for sept...chances are you'll find a TA one. Good luck!
Thanks. That was my concern. I've heard that principals have a hard time seeing you out of the TA position once you've taken one but then again I thought it would get my foot in the door of a LI school. I'm so confused!
Have you previously worked as a TA or a teacher?
No, I just graduated in December. These were my very first interviews
Definitely take the leave position. Schools are all about getting your foot in the door and who you know. Once you are in the leave position, you will have no problem making connections and finding a job for September.
Thanks so much!
Id take the leave replacement!Good luck!
Hmmm. I am currently a TA in Suffolk. I recommend the leave replacement in Queens.
Congrats on graduating! Isn't it a great feeling? Where in Queens? I work in Queens. Def. take a leave replacement in Queens. You will prob. have more of a chance getting a job in Queens. FM if you want.
take the leave replacement. it is real classroom experience. don't get me wrong, TA's work in the classroom too (i was a TA for 3 1/2 years while goin for my masters), but a principal is more likely to consider you if you have your own classroom.
