NWR-Who has more education?

You or FH, or is it the same? Was talking about this w/ my mom today. Just curious.

We both have our masters. By law, I must have it.

But here's something to think about...

My father had an HS diploma and paid for 4 college degrees, 2 masters degrees and 1 law degree with not so much as a loan. I will NEVER be able to do this for my children - not on my salary.

My brother, the only one of us 4 kids with only one degree makes more $$$$$ than his sisters combined x3.

...and this is why I am left disillusioned and will allow my children to pursue whatever career path they want as long as they have goals. If it involves college, great. If not, so be it. I am a firm believer that not all people are meant for college. Education does not always equal financial stability.

Thus concludes my education rant.

I find the results of this poll amazing.
What I would like to know is for the ladies who answered they have more or the same education; who makes more?
That would really show the inequality in salaries between men and women!!!

I have more and I make more, no inequality here

Yes and you're right. I too will be happy as long as my kids choose something they will be happy with that will give them stability. The only concern I have is that the market is already so competative...I don't know what it will be like when my kids are out of high school. Just think, a few years ago all you needed in order to teach was a bachelor's, now you need a masters...who knows what will happen in a few years! Even scarier...I work for a broker and he showed me a perspectus of how much the average undergraduate education will be per year...Now it's $20,000....then it will be $60,000

I do. I have a masters degree and he has a bachelors degree. But I dont think that really makes a difference...we both have great jobs!!!

I have 2 BA's ...............he has high school
FH is VERY smart ...but he cant sit in a room and listen to someone ....or read a book front to back - I guess he just doesnt care enough ....and who and i to say anything he still makes more money then me -

He does, but we make about the same salary.

Although I might be smarter, since I had higher grades than he did, and I am always correcting him on something!!!

We actually had a bet going on the correct spelling of 'cuckoo'. Guess who won that one....and it was a priceless look on his face when he realized how wrong he was!!!

FH scored 10 points high on an IQ test than I did, but I am a much better speller!

He kind of does b/c he has a bachelors, but I graduated LPN school and just never got my license.

It depends how you look at it. I have my Masters Degree and he's an attorney. We went for the same amount of time, but I think his is considered higher than a Masters Degree. Then again, I'm a teacher so I'll be going to school the rest of my working life!

Yet for the most part, they still make more money than we do. Like I said before, education does not equal money.

I believe a law degree is considered a doctoral degree because they come out of law school with a JD - Doctor of Jurisprudence.

Me. I have a masters degree in Special Education, a bachelor's in Elementary Education. HE has a bachelor's Degree in ELectrical Engineering

I do, but he still makes more $$$$ then me. We both went to Nassau Community and graduated. I went on to Hofstra and got my BA in Business Management, he went to technical school for computers.

fi and i both have our bachelors, but different fields. he makes 3 times more than i do, but i was a communications major and he's a comp engineering major.

Him - HS - he never needed to go to college, took a few credits here and there, but he's in the dream job of his life, so no need for it. He's probably the smartest person I know.

I make more - almost three times more.

I don't think it has anything to do with our education, but has to do completely with what industries we went into.

I'm in Finance, working for a Top Tier Investment Bank in a very well paying area - Risk Management.

He's in Baseball, working for a Major League Tea in Advertising Sales, and Production.
