Re: NWR Who watched.......
I didn't watch it, but I have been frightened just by the coming attractions...what's the deal- is someone actually killing people...there was some guy that looked like a Michale Meyers slasher type (which I am pretrified of the Halloween movies to this very day!)

The skin scene with 'Mama' bothered me - it was the first surgery scene that made me sick. I love to watch plastic surgery (real like Dr. 90210 or fake like Nip/Tuck) but my fiance has to close his eyes and ask me when it's 'safe' to look!
But we loved watching the threesome at the end! So hot!

Boy do I have differences of opinion. Ever feel so bad about yourself that you feel horrible in your own skin? I have. It is debilitating and terribly depressing. Fortunately, I had a loving family, knowledge of mental health and insurance enough to take care of myself to make me well.
This was based on a true story and it meant so much more to me than what was on the surface - more than a fat woman who couldn't help herself. This woman was ill both physically and emotionally. There are plenty of people just like her on different levels with different addictions who refuse or cannot help themselves. The alcoholic who cannot stop drinking. The junkie who cannot stop shooting up. People feel bad for those people. Why can't they feel bad for her? I cried the whole time. It hits close to home.

Aww Goldie, I'm sorry that the show affected you like that. You were very fortunate to have a strong support system. No one can begin to understand what that's like unless they've gone through their own struggles, whether it was on their own or with someone they know. That said, we shouldn't pass judgment of any kind.
I can't speak for everybody, but I don't think those of us that are posting on this thread were grossed out by the woman herself, but by the graphic blood and skin and infection that we witnessed. It was refreshing to see that Dr. Sean MacNamara was so caring towards her and that both he and Liz and Christian could make her last moments peaceful - she died after smiling.

I watched it and was disturbed all day by the Dr Troy memories. That was really horrible! And I don't get why Mama looked up towards the doors and was like ooh, ahh.... right before she dies; was someone there or something? And that mask totally freaks me out. I turn on all the lights after watching anything related to the carver.

Well, Sean finally signed the divorce papers and julia was sad.
Christian had a threesome with the dectective and Kimber
Christian and Sean took on the other guy as a partner
Mama died

It totally didn't have to be that long. They could have made it an hour! They had to add those silly previews!

Oh I totally understand and appreciate that. My point was that there was a very deep reason for why she was forced to live in her own waste. Nobody would choose to live that way.

I do agree that Sean's bedside manner was incredible. I just wish more doctors would treat obesity with compassion rather than with scorn.
