NWR: Who's your GRINCH?

I'm a big fan of the holidays because it's the ONLY part of the winter I can stand, so it really frustrates me when the people around me behave extra nasty this time of year, which is too often the case. So who's the grinch in your life making it hard to enjoy the season as much as you'd like?

Me? My boss has been on the warpath for what seems like the entire month of December, and regardless of the fact that I have (as advisor) put out an issue of the newspaper--a ridiculous amount of work that boils down to about $5/hour for me--and helped every Tom, ****, and Harry in my building with submitting progress reports (as technology mentor) in addition to my normal teaching load (which is no joke for an English teacher, grading like a madwoman, racing to finish units before break, and preparing for the ELA in less than a month), she still finds reason to be totally critical and unappreciative of that fact that I come home every night totally frazzled and dead on my feet. Grrrr.

My dad...

last year he literally waited till he almost died to go to the hospital (he had a cough... let it go from september till it turned into pneumonia and then the pneumonia lead to an intestinal problem which lead to an induced coma all of last year so there was no christmas) and he keeps saying 'Do i have todo what i did last year and get sick to get anyone to notice im here? Or do I need to break my bones this year?'
I mean what does he want? Hes retired and WE ALL WORK FULL TIME!
He loves the attention and bringing anyone else down. Grrrr....

My sister....

Every year you would think my sister is getting dragged to the electric chair over holiday plans. She hates everything about the holidays...shopping, wrapping gifts, decorating, parties and complains about everything. I mean I could see if we plan this big formal sit-down fancy Christmas, but we keep things totally laid-back. I mean one year we ordered pizzas!

I know it may be mean, but I actually don't take her phone calls during the holidays cause she's such a downer.

Me- because i learned they destroyed my favorite holiday movie
