must people ask 'can I sit with you, there's no tables available' when I am sitting at a booth at the pizza place on my lunchbreak???? This has happened more than once. I would NEVER ask to sit with someone! I would WAIT like everyone else for a table to open up. It's my LUNCH BREAK. I want to be alone and read (or look through the target registry catalog, as it were), not sit across from some lady I don't know and hope she doesn't say, 'Oh, are you getting married? When? Where? Oh, my daughter just got married there last year, it was so wonderful ... '
Seriously, I do not know what some people are thinking.

They are just drawn to me, what can I say?
It happened a few times last summer, I used to work next to a strip mall that had a few restaurants in it and a seating area outside. I was sitting at a table - a big one - and this woman with like 4 kids came over and said, do you mind if we sit here? There's no where else to sit. I waited 15 minutes for that table, on the side, sitting on a ledge.

I feel the same way, but if i ever see an old man sitting and eating alone - i want to invite him bc he looks soooo lonely.

That happened to me one time. It is so awkward. Now I just put my coat on the other side and put on my headphones and pretend I don't see someone standing there. I would never ask someone if I could sit with them. There are jst some ballsy people out there.
