NWR: Why we teach

All summer I have been feeling like I don't make a difference anymore when I teach.

BUT

Today my 1.5 year old student said his FIRST WORD!!!

I starting crying. He looked at me and with this sad face said MAMA!!! She is on vacation so I called her and had him say it to her in the phone.

I love being a teacher on days like this!!

That's so sweet. I definitely agree. As stressful as it can sometimes be there are certainly moments that make it completely worth it.

aww thats an awesome feeling!!! its great to remember how rewarding it can be! i love when my students go 'ohhhhhh NOW I get it!!' and their whole face lights up =)

Teachers are underappreciated so many times. I feel like the rewards are very internal for us.
