NWR: winter weekend getaway!

Ok FH's bday is coming up and i want to get him a mini vacation but due to work we cant go until winter

i am looking for a place that is pet friendly and VERY romantic within 6 hours (or less) of NYC such as CT, VT, PA or upstate

I would love a cabin, anything with a fireplace, hot tub . . . you get the idea. . . basically a place where we can stay in for the weekend and never leave if we don't want to!

but i want to bring my puppy brutus with us since we cant take him any time we go too far

Does anyone have any suggestions? or even how to start looking?
