Good luck! Are you getting them cut out or pulled? I got all four cut out (two each time) and the second time was a million times easier than the first because I took the pain medication.

One is being pulled because part of it is out i believe. But the other one is being cut out because it is impacted. I'm being put out, which is good. I'm just afraid of the pain I had a big surgery last summer, so I'm sure this is a piece of cake compared to what I went through. I hope..

I've been avoiding the dentist because I know he is going to tell me I need to get them taken out. I'm scared.

Good luck! I had all 4 of mine cut out in high school. Stock up on movies, and jello, pudding, ice cream & mashed potatoes and you should be fine. Enjoy the time you get to rest!

Good luck! I had a different experience than most people, I had two cut out and it didn't hurt or swell, hardly at all. Stay positive! A lot of times it can be mind over matter.

Re: NWR Wisdom Teeth

I don;t have wisdom teeth but 3 weeks before the wedding I had to have one of my last molars removed because like a wsdom tooth, it was only partally erupted. I was awake for the surgery, which took 10 minutes. I was in a lot of pain when I got home.

I don't know if you can eat before since you are being knocked out, but they told me to eat before, which was great advice since afterward you won't eat.

DEFINTELY follow ALL instructions

NO STRAWS.. I know this is weird.,.I pictured myself sipping milkshakes, but any suction can cause dry socket, so no spitting or smoking either.

After 24 hours, rinse as

many times a day as you can with warm salt water.

Eat food as you can handle it, but nothing hot for the first few days.

It really only hurt a lot the first day. I also had no bruising since I really kept up with the ice as well.

Re: NWR Wisdom Teeth

That's good to know. I wasn't aware that I couldn't have anything hott. Thank god I didn't drink hott tea or anything lol.

I had my surgery done at 9:00. Unfortunately they couldn't find a vein to put me out so I was pricked so many times. I'm glad I was put out, so I wasn't awake in the chair hearing them drilling and stuff. I'm in some pain right now.. not excruciating pain though (thank god). Hopefully it gets better as the days go on.

Thanks for the support ladies!

Re: NWR Wisdom Teeth

The reason not hot is because anythng hot can dissolve the blood clots and give you dry socket .So stay away from very hot stuff for a few days. Warm is ok.

Feel better!!!

Thank you so much for letting me know that. I'm definitely going to stay away from really hot things for a while.

Hope you feel better soon! I had 2 of mine out a few months ago, but they didn't knock me out. You'll feel much better in a few days!
