Today is ten years since I went to Woodstock '99. It was my high school graduation gift from my parents
Just wanted to share. Did anyone else attend?

I was. We left just as the fires started. It was an 'interesting' weekend to say the least.

I had a blast...I didn't leave until about 6 a.m. the next morning - couldn't find one of my friends and didn't want to sit in hours of traffic anyway.
FH was there, he has pictures of topless women covered in mud sitting on his shoulders...

The rest of me was okay since I used sunblock...but my chapstick had no SPF. Never will I make that mistake again!

we weren't smart enough to bring sunblock so we were burnt and i started throwing up the first night from being soo sunburn-yeah gross and the first aid tents had no aloe. The second day my brother and his friend drove into town and bought sunblock and other stuff

Interesting, yes. Fun - definitely.
Christine - it was in Rome, NY. Way upstate.
FHs parents went in 1969.
my parents house in upstate, NY is right passed Bethel where they hold the festivals in August of 1979, 1989, 1994,1999, and 2009. FHs parents also went to those. i was at the ones in 1994 & 1999.
this place has opened a state of the art amplitheater (spelling??) where they hold concerts every weekend during July & August.

Christine - it might not be the same one...I know about the ones in Bethel, but they're a lot more subdued than the one in Rome. Were there fires and looting at the one you went to? If so, then you were at the same one!

no i definitely never been to the one in Rome, NY. but many people do go to both places so the ones i went to as a kid (in 1994 & 1999) definitely involved some craziness.
FHs parents on the other hand did attend numerous ones that where in Rome, NY
