NWR- work advice UPDATED

NWR- work advice UPDATED

sorry its so long but i really need advice!!!

background story:
i worked at a very small company for 4.5 years. in may of this year my boss said i'm sorry but you can't work full time during the summer this year because we are cutting everyones hours. so i went & got a second job. low & behold they didn't cut anyones hours but mine. i became super pissed because he flat out lied to me. all of a sudden her started calling me on days i wasn't working asking to go in extra. after this happened 3 times i decided to tell him i got a 2nd job. he flipped out on me & told me that in the office policy i am not allowed to do that. (he was 100% wrong. i read that policy in & out & had the lawyer at the 2nd job read it-said nothing about not being allowed to get a 2nd job). he started treated me really horrible. i was going home from work hysterically crying & getting myself physically sick because he was getting so crazy. so FH & my parents told me to give my 2 weeks notice. so i did & he made my last 2 weeks there living hell. so my last day i was so excited to get out of their i just left. however he hadn't found anyone to replace me yet, so i told him i would go in on saturday, sept. 13 to review stuff with him.

problem:
i received my last pay check in the mail & there is nothing on it about going in on saturday. i e-mailed him last week to confirm & haven't heard back from him yet. however my personality is that i will show up when i am suppose to & after being there 4.5 years he knows that.

question:
should i hand him an invoice on saturday before i leave with a consulting fee?(the amount i get paid per hour now) or should i just ask for my old salary?

ok first of that is horrible. He had no right to mistreat you like that on the job and you had every right (and should have) reported to your company's human resource department to complain about this.

Secondly, if you worked more than you were paid out, then i would dispute this- you are owed whatever they normally would have paid you- Unless they can provide a payroll reconciliation proving otherwise.

YOu are so nice to go back for a day even though he never got back to you.. I would not even go back especially if he treated you unfairly. You should make him pay up!

I would make them cut you a check that day.

He may not pay you.Even if you send him an invoice. You're giving the company too much credit. No email to confirm no reason to go in.

I emailed you to confirm and I didn't hear from you, so I thought you didn't need me.

Don't be a pushover, stand up for yourself... he asking you to come in because he knows YOU will no matter how horribly he treats you.

So, I wouldn't go in... it's just one days pay... and it's not worth the misery.

UPDATE:

so i don't have to go in tomorrow, its being postponed. because the new girl is sick. i am pissed because he made the new girl (who i never met) e-mail me. i am doing him a favor he can't call me himself?? & also because FH is going white water rafting tomorrow & since they already made the reservation i can't even go.

Your're being too nice. After his behavior...I wouldnt even go in to go over things. I dont typically recommend burning bridges...but doesnt sound like this guy would be a good reference for you anyway. Cut your losses and dont look back!

Unfortunately i will need his recommendation because it will look very strange when i have him listed as an employer for 4 years but don't want him to give me a recommendation. plus the job i had before that my boss is in jail so he would be an even worse recommendation.

that's awful. I know the only policy my office has about me getting a second job is that it doesnt affect my other job by me being late or having to leave early... other than that they dont care.

i think of it as a learning experience. at the time it was the best i could do. he was very flexible with me still being in school. i received good bonuses, extra vacation days & was matched 100% with my 401K even when i wasn't supposed to have been.

I wouldnt even go in on any saturday, why should you help him out???
He might give you a bad recommendation anyway just because hes upset. Maybe you shouldnt use him as a reference at all and use one of your coworkers as one?

agreed. i didn't get along with my boss or her brother at my last job so i used co-workers who were high up on the chain as references.
