NWR: WW question.. Core or Flex?

And why ?

Im going to go join WW and attend meetings. I ve been investing the system a bit and wonder which you prefer and why?

It looks like counting points is pretty much right on cue of counting calories... which I could do without going the 'point' route I guess.

My palate loves:

pastas
meats
vegies
and breads.

I cook for a family of 5.. so I dont want to cook differently for myself.

any thoughts?

Definitely the Points!!

You can eat anything, its basically all about portion control. I started Wednesday of last week and seriously, I dont even feel like I am on a diet. The points is awesome especially since you have a family that you cook for because you can still eat everything that they are eating.

Good Luck!!

I've been on the points plan for almost a year now. I like the flexibility of being able to eat whatever I want (subject of course to portion control). As soon as you tell me I can't eat something, that's all I want to eat!

Whichever one you choose, good luck!

The bread/pasta part leads me to say points is better for you than carb... I love points! I started (roughly) again after having lost 30 when in college

I'm currently on flex, but have done Core before. I did Core for the few months leading up to my wedding. I really like it and love the no-counting factor and feel better eating non-processed foods (plus it's easier to get in oils, dairy, etc). It's just hard for me to do all the time b/c of work events and other social obligations. Flex is definitely more flexible. So for now, I'm back on flex but try to eat lots of core like foods. I'll switch for a week so when I need another jumpstart.

OY! LOL!!!

Im just not sure!!!! I dont like the thought of counting, but have heard its so much easier.

For example..

I just made a pot of vegie soup.

2 cans of stewed tomatoes,
1/2 pd lean ground hamburger
chicken broth
bag of frozen vegies
and a handful of broken up whole wheat pasta.

If I have a big bowl of this for lunch... how the heck do I count the points?

Points....I did the points and my friends did flex after three weeks the did the points too. They lost 3-4 lbs i lost 17. Once they started the points they lost weights. The other one (core right) is more to maintain your current weight (well thats what I feel). With the points you can eat McDonalds if you wanted. You can eat anything you want just in portions. Good Luck!!!

I track my points online. For what you're describing, you could use the recipe builder tool to calculate the points. It's very easy to use.

Flex is much easier to follow- especially when you have to cook for five!
