NWR : WW VENT/QUESTION

NWR : WW VENT/QUESTION

So I am getting very stresed out over this weight watchers diet. I am keeping track of all my points and watching what I am eating. I am also working out at least 3 times a week. I dropped 3 pounds and then gained them back...... how is this possible???

How long did it take everyone else to lose weight from weight watchers?? Maybe I am not doing my points correctly .......ahhhhh so frustrated.

Re: NWR : WW VENT/QUESTION

First a few 'official' WW things to look at:

Are you eating all of your daily target points each day?
Are you weighing and measuring your foods?
Are you tracking EVERYTHING you eat and/or drink?
What method of tracking do you use?
Are you getting in your 9 good health guidelines every day (i.e. water, dairy, oil, fruits/veggies, etc.)?
Do you use your WPA's?
Do you use your AP's?
Do you go to meetings each week?
--If so, have you spoken to your leader about this?
What types of foods are you eating most of?

Ok now some 'outside' things to look at:
Have you measured yourself instead of weighing?
How are your clothes fitting?

Re: NWR : WW VENT/QUESTION

im with u on the frustration FH lost like 50 pounds on WW in like 5 months, I on the other hand lost 15 in the same amount of time and then gained back at least 6-10... haven;t weighed in in weeks so I wouldn't know exactly.

For me WW just isn't it... I lost over 40 lbs before I met FH just watching what I ate and working out for an hour or so five days per week. I am going back to that method once I finish school in August. I am also going to start to see a nutriionist, that worked well for me in the past too...

That prob wasn't a helpful post, but I just think WW isn't for everyone...

I actually have not been measuring my foods. Do you think that could be a reason? Everything else I have been doing.

Also I have just been weighing myself not measuring. My clothes do seem to fit a little better. Maybe I should change how I have been doing things. I havent been to a meeting maybe its time i go.

Thank You !!

If you're not measuring out your foods, how do you know your portions are correct???

I would also definitely recommend finding other 'measurements' other than the scale. Sometimes the scale just doesn't show what we want it to, and often, our progress can be shown in other ways.

measuring is definitely a big key, because then your points are not accurate

it took me 6 months to hit my goal on WW and I was very strict with the measuring and tracking

definitely use the WW spoons they are very helpful

ITA - WW is all about portion control. And though I follow their Core plan, I still break out the measuring cups for grains and pasta because those are total weaknesses for me - and I've been on that plan for a year. Some things you just can't 'eyeball'...though I always 'eyeball' fruits and veggies.

How are Lean Cuisines with the WW diet? I know they are high in sodium, but do they work with points? When I do it on the calculator they come out to about 6-7 points.

Everything works with points. As long as you run the nutritionals through the points calculator or points finder.

Crashing... I would definitely start measuring your food, it will help a lot and also up the workouts. The weeks I don't workout at least 6 days are the weeks I stay the same or lose only a couple of ounces! Ask your leader for advice to. If you stick with it, you will do great! Good Luck!

All I can say is that you have to follow the program exact - everytime I let myself slip up just a little bit I stop loosing or gain. Take the time to make sure you're doing everything you're supposed to and best of luck - give it some time...

The lean cuisine box has the ww points on it, I think on one of the sides.

if you are working out too you must remember that muscle weighs more than fat. i worked out like crazy my first year of college and i gained some weight because i gained muscle. just a little side note to keep in mind.

That's actually a common myth; a pound of muscle = a pound of fat = a pound of lead = a pound of feathers. A pound is equal to a pound.

I think what you were looking to say was more along the lines of sometimes when people are actively losing weight by working out, their lean body mass increases (muscle) while body fat decreases - ie., you're building muscle.

Also when you work out, your muscles sometimes retain water, which results in minor gains on the scale (but nothing that you'll really notice in terms of your measurements or how your clothes fit).

Okay so I think WW is great. My FMIL did amazing on it lost like 100 some pounds. I applaud anyone on WW however I will say this

I tried it and I stressed SOOOO much about everything I ate. It became an illness, I didn't drop like everyone says you do, and I hated every second of it.

I had no success

What has worked for me (have lost 13 pounds in 1.5 months) is working out and writing down everything I eat. Old school calories in and calories out. I stay away from too many carbs and stay away from all fried foods and pizza ;( I allow sweets on special occasions only and drink seldomly. But mostly if I eat more that I really should have I spend more time at the gym.

that's what's worked for me and kept me sane at the same time

I found WW too easy to screw up, so switched to Jenny Craig. I am on week 4 and really loving it. It's easy and convenient and the food is pretty good. I justhad Jenny Craig cheetos for dessert. I love when I can have a snack I love and not feel bad about it...they make you eat it!!
